Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO)
- The CSTO is a Russia dominated security alliance (Russia contributes 50% of its budget) which was established after the USSR’s fall when some members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) signed a mutual defence treaty named the Collective Security Treaty replacement for the Warsaw Pact. In 2002, it became the CSTO.
- The CSTO has six members today: Russia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan
- The principle of collective security or the idea of “one for all and all for one”.
